Tomorrow Trade2Win will be observing a two minute silence for Remembrance Day by turning off posting on the forums at 11am GMT.

It was at this time, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 that World War I formally ended. It's a chance for us all to remember the sacrifices made by the armed forces and civilians, in times of war, both in the past and present.

Remembrance Day is a commemoration of the combatant victims of war, not of martial victories or specific causes furthered by military means. Even the soldiers of a victorious army in a just war must be considered victims, in a sense. I am happy to recall their sacrifices. I only hope their commemoration results in fewer such sacrifices in the future.
