Registration requirements to trade stocks for others - help needed

I have a verifiable 3-year track record trading U.S. equities. I would like to set up a corporation that is the investment advisor to a partnership that manages other people's money as a hedge fund.

Can anyone tell me what registration requirements must be performed to manage other people's money as a hedge fund trading in stocks? I fully intend to use the Reg D private placement exemption to proceed without SEC registration. But do I still need to register as an RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) with the SEC? Do I need a Series 7 or Series 65?

I currently live in Texas in case that matters.

Thank you.

Glad to see that for a change we have some people here doing things the right way, unlike some of the frauds and crooks we have here soliciting client funds without a track record, or registration.

BSD, how would you know.

You've never known a profitable trader or have ever made a profit yourself.

As a total poser, you'ver never seen behind the curtain. So quit acting as you have.
