This may be a wierd post ...
I used to work in firm that invested in a lot of CTAs and I was involved in selecting CTA managers. As a part of my job, I used to hear a lot of CTA managers pitch their strategies to me - expecting that they may get an allocation of capital. Over time, I have accumulated a wealth of information about what top / large managers do and what others don't - e.g. how do the trend-following or carry models differ between top and average CTAs.
It's not really any proprietary information, but yet it is something that is not easily available.
I have since moved on to a different job working in the area of quantitative equity stock selection. I use most of my own personal capital to trade volatility arbitrage which has been reasonably profitable to me. Launching my own CTA fund will require a lot of capital and I'm unlikely to do so in the near future.
I am writing this post to check if there are any existing CTAs who might be interested in any consultation arrangement.
Let me know if there is any interest.
