Orders to open..closing price vs opening

Hi,

I have a question about orders to open on IG index, also the difference between closing and opening prices.

Say share X closes at $2.00 but all indications are that its going to open higher or climb quickly in the next session.

So I place a buy order at $2.02 but the open comes in at $2.05 and keeps climbing,
I assume I've missed my window??

Do IG give a new opening price just prior to the opening bell to use as an order level?

Basically how do I get the best price at the open?

i think you need to watch it and place an order as it opens, or have a "buffer" set so it'll pay Xcents different to your limit but no more.

I'd checkthe buffer thing with them though
