i reside in spain, but i am a cuban american, holding a us passport.
i want to open an acct with an offshore broker. can any one recomend an
inexpensive and reputable offshore discount broker.( I want to trade the us market, share and mutual funds).Also one that is not difficult to deal with, many are not open to us citizens, although i hold a spanish nif number.

Me too, but I don't think Luxembourg banks open accounts for US citizens.

Very important that the stock broker you work with is regulated to MiFID standards otherwise you will have no protection. MiFID is the new framework for the regulation of European stockbrokers and the protection of clients, especially retail clients.
