I closed my account with Banco Santander, on Monday. A few friends followed suit. We have nothing against this bank but, we feel, unanimously, that the Spanish economy will collapse like a house of cards.
The data makes for very worrying reading. There are more properties for sale in Spain, at present, than there are in USA. Unemployment rising by the month, especially in the 18-24 age group. Definitely time to pull the plug on any Spanish investments, cash or otherwise.
I've advised my family, friends and business associates to close any accounts with Spanish banks and get the hell out of there:!:
