Is this a good platform (the free version)? Does it have programmability functions or regular options to allow trailing stops on penny stocks (.OB and .PK)?

I know a few people that use it and it does for sure have auto program functions for trailing stop etc.

From what I have seen (and I see it projected on a daily basis) it seems to be top notch, I would definitely look at Ninja if my beloved ToS was gone for some reason. Actually, if Ninja made a Mac dedicated version I would - I am extremely happy with ToS but always like to look out to other options and there are a couple of plugins that I would like to use that Ninja offer and ToS do not.

Thanks! I use TorS too, and like it; but the commissions for sub pennies is really high. I am thinking of going with TD and using NJT.

Yes. That´s another good point about the pricing for sub pennies - That´s another downside of ToS then.

Again, it doesnt effect me as I don´t mess with sub pennies, but for sure should be a consideration for someone looking at the platform (if they do play subbers).

Any recommendations for Sub Penny Brokers ?

Any other downsides to ToS that people can see (which I can´t ) ?

I just pulled the trigger on a lifetime license of NT...

That was the easiest decision i have had to make. The broker seems to be a little harder ....

The free live trading version offered by Amp and others doesn't have the ATM stuff.

I used the NT/Zen fire from postrockglobal. The NT/Zen is wonderful esp for the free version. I dont need the ATM which save me $50 per month

Currently looking at Ninja myself. At the moment I'm running MT4 and Alpari, but I'm getting a bit uncomfy with all the things I'm reading about MT4 brokers.

To use Ninja it would mean changin broker as well. I'm currently searching for one here in the UK that supports Ninja. So far only found Forex.com who have UK offices now. Think they're data comes via Gain Capital. If I take the account with Forex.com, I get Ninja for free.

Probably a stupid question, but can ninjatrader use InteractiveBrokers as the data feed?

I see on the website I could hook up IB as the broker, but I can't see anything telling me that this will work for the data feed too.

I can state NJT can use IB as datafeed. See here

I've been using it sing 4 years and I woul NOT change it with anyone else platform. For me is the best I've ever found

thanks for the link - but I already saw that and the slightly confusing thing is that NinjaTrader lists IB under "Supported Brokerage Technology" but not under "Supported Market Data Vendors".

I guess I should just download it and try it out!

Exactly Adamus. If you want to connect IB With Ninja just have a look at the following official guide. Maybe you already have it

I'm recommending to configure API in IB before (as indicated in the guide)

Have to say though, although they've got a nice looking website, it's not easy to find stuff. It took me ages to unearth the system requirements. Hope that's not typical for all the rest of the info.

I find Ninjatrader a really easy to use and fast platform. No problems to dat, been using it for a year now. I use a zenfire feed. I only use it for futures so cant comment on the other markets but you can incorpotrate other feeds into it which will allow for all markets.

Very Good platform if you ask me. I do use the ATM so do pay NT $50 per month, well worth it.

Also a NT user myself... Hence the name.

Great platform, and they have webinar tutorials on setups and such. Also have a tech support forum. I suggest going with the 6.5 for now until they get the bugs worked out of 7 beta. 7 is supposed to have a 2 year lookback which is pretty impressive for futures.

Dorman trading has ZenFire, as does AMP Futures. Lots of nice plug ins with NinjaTrader, and alot of people are doing ninja scripts as well. Very easy to work with, and very handy to have. Once you get your chart setups, trading is a breeze!

Highly recommended. Freebie is also great as well.

I'm using their platform for a year now. I'm only using the Strategy Analyzer to backtest and optimize strategies.

Advantages: Easy to apply, a huge forum with many free files and tips, many indicators, ...
Disadvantages: If you are using yahoo finance as data source for the platform, it will use unadapted price data for the closing price of stocks. This means all the stock splits are ignored. One way to solve this, is to manually enter each stock split for each stock, but this takes ages.
