Dear Friends,

This is Shivam. I'm playing at BOM from last 3 weeks. I've started with 1K real money after doing some demo trading at MT4 platform. I'll post here my own bets which will expire in next few days & their results. Any exchange or suggestion for bets are most welcome.

My currently running bets :

1. No Touch: Win USD250 if EUR/SEK never touches 9.55 at any time before the close of trading on 28-AUG-08 [inclusive]. - USD 217.49

2. No Touch: Win USD10 if EUR/GBP never touches 0.808 at any time before the close of trading on 26-AUG-08 [inclusive]. - USD 8.57

3. One Touch: Win USD40 if, at any time before the close of trading on 25-AUG-08 [inclusive], NZD/USD touches 0.7165. - USD 23.22

4. Double One-Touch: Win USD20 if FTSE Index touches 5500 *and* 5300 at some time before the close of trading on 17-SEP-08 [inclusive]. - USD 11.86

5. No Touch: Win USD25 if Wall Street Index never touches 11150 at any time before the close of trading on 27-AUG-08 [inclusive]. - USD 17.58

6. Range: Win USD25 if Wall Street Index never touches 12160 nor 11160 at any time before the close of trading on 27-AUG-08 [inclusive]. - USD 19.94

Shivam - if its of interest you can put a short cut link to your open positions on BOM to save you having to type them out - simply go to your portfolio page and then right click on the link at the bottom of the page and "copy shortcut" and paste it here. For anyone interested here is mine - as you will see currently taking a bit of a pasting from the strength of the Dollar but such is life.

My only comment on your positions Shivam is that you seem to be taking a big risk on the cost of your open positions relative to your "bank" - more than 20% on one position is usually a recipe for poverty in the long run. Good luck however.

Dear Friend,

Thanks for the insight. I took more than 20% risk over that bet because I was pretty confident about my analysis. Placed 3 more bets. One of the bet got expired with return of $40.

Thanks for starting this thread Shivam. I've also been placing BOM bets on currencies based on technical analysis.

I've limited myself to One-Touch bets, though, and they worked fine (in fact, I more than doubled my initial deposit, although small, in less than two weeks). Lately, though, I'm finding that my targets would indeed get hit BUT AFTER my expiry date.

Is there a MT indicator that you know of that could help me gauge the correct TIME for setting my expiry date?

Dear Tita,

I use many indicators to identify the trend & expiry of my bet. I'm using Braintrensignal indicator with combination of RSI & Slow Stoch which helps me to place the bet at right time. Sometimes, It gives the false signals because it's really inevitable in this world. No indicator is perfect but it helps you to boost your confidence. You can PM me if you want this indicator.

you'll probably get a much better price for these bets at betsfortraders.com
I've noticed sometimes massive discrepancies between the two, most notably on indices and forex...

I'm not affiliated with them btw... worth checking out

Is it possible to Arb between the two if these discrepancies are so large?
 
Well, My country citizens are not allowed to place bet with BFT. That's why I have only BOM to bet.

Then please tell me how you are not? I used them and still follow the service now it is free. If you follow their guidelines then according to their site you would have made 12.85% this year on the core service and 0% from the 100% club. Given the losing positions so far this month on the 100% club (and I havnt placed them all this month I admit) my account is down on the 100% club and only marginally up on the core service. Seems a lot of work for little gain.
