Mobile Spreadbetting

Hello

Can anyone recommend a spreadbetting firm that offer mobile trading. I've got a Windows Mobile device and would like to be able to trade from that as I cannot access the spreadbetting websites on the computers at work. I tried using the Opera browser on the phone to go directly to my current provider, TradeFair, but it doesn't display properly (I don't think mobile browsers have very good flash or java support). I need a provider that has a trading platform that can be installed on a PocketPC device.

Thanks, have you any experience using it? If so, how usable is it? I notice CMC also have one.

I use it very rarely on my mobile (samsung D900) to monitor positions- will probably use it a lot more when i get back to uni as I will be away from the PC a lot more.

It's very simple, you send a text message to the number they supply, they send you an email with the program attached, install the program, then you can open it up and log-in within a few minutes. I haven't opened/closed a trade with it yet as i simply haven't had to, i'd assume it works well otherwise there would be a thread about it somewhere on this forum!

I have used IGIndex's mobile platform on my Nokia E65 (Symbian 3 opp sys). They have recently added a feature so you can display a basic chart which makes monitoring a position easier. I have closed one or 2 trades with it but I think a mobile platform is only useful for monitoring purposes as I would never open a trade as the chart is too small tomake decisions with. If you have a trade running that you want to keep an eye on then yes a mobile is useful.

I am thinking about something like the Nokia N801 which has a larger screen but not sure if the IGIndex platform will even work on it. I have the advantage of WiFi at work so could even use a laptop but they may catch on so looking for something quite small.

If you're in the market for a new phone and you're interested in being able to watch the markets on the go I can highly recommend getting a Windows Mobile device and installing MetaTrader PocketPC version on it. The charting is really good and you can even add trend lines etc to the charts. If you can identify the areas you are interested in on your PC first and mark these on your phone it is quite feasible to make trading decisions from the charts on your phone. I'm running it on my HTC Touch Diamond, which has a fantastic clear, hi-res screen. If there was a spreadbetting firm that used MetaTrader it would be perfect!

I've used it to open positions a couple of times (I trade end-of-day and in the circumstances already knew what trade I was opening, so didn't need the charts). Both times the execution speed was excellent (less than 2 seconds) and very quick to set a stop and limit before placing the order.

When I've used it for monitoring positions it doesn't seem to use much data either.
