I'm living in Soto, trading in Gib (dreadful place!) but better than sitting at home alone doing it by myself like Johnny No Mates.
Day trading benefits - high $ per day per margin returns; drawbacks - tedious, mindless, commute to Gib.
I have also been running a longer term position account trading 40 diversified futures products (+34% pa) which is what I really love and want to expand this.
What I'm looking for is a group of people with a longer term view than day trading to run a hedge fund with.
Long Term Position holding benefits - get on and hold bigger position for much longer, no desk and comm costs, mental stimulation and creativity, scalable to $100m or more.
My long term goal / heaven - an office by a marina with 3 or 4 bright people talking over, finding, analysing and taking positions in special situations with a 3 month - two year view from India to IT, Albanian property to China, platinum to sugar, with timing in and out of equity markets eg. out 9/00, in 4/03, out 7/07 etc.
Anyone know if such a place exists in (Spain) or want to set one up ?

I've never traded as a professional but have been an investment advisor (with the long term outlook) and more recently provided trading platform solutions to retail and institutional broker/dealers. Not sure what level of proficiency you're looking for but I'd be interested in hearing more about your 'goal'. I'd consider myself 'bright' and eager to bring the street to southern spain too.

Hi. I live v. near Marbella, and works as a Financial Advisor (soon to have offices in Marbella central). I have been trading the FTSE for around 6 years part time. I know Sylvian is also an active trader and lives in the same region.

I tell you what I have been looking for and can't find - A proprietary trading arcade. It seems all the ones in Gibraltar and Marbella on the 'trading arcade' lists are no longer around. So you can't get a decent connection, hardware, and software for serious trading. You are stuck with ADSL broadband and spread betting companies.

I went to dubai not so long ago, as I was considering trading over there and there is a good professional setup (DubaiPTG) where they also train newcomers. That sort of thing is what I think would be good down on the coast. As where would you rather trade London or the Spanish coast ?
