I've just heard Juan Carlos, the Spanish king, ask Hugo Chavez "Why don't you shut up?"

The first time I've heard Royalty, in any country, talk like that to another Head of State.

Chavez was calling Aznar a fascist. Zapatero answered that it was not proper to insult an ex-President of the Spanish Government, properly elected by the Spanish people but Chavez kept on with his insults. This resulted in the King's retort.

Just wait 'til the Queen gets him home. :D :D

I used to support and like that git Chavez but now he is fast becoming a fascist him self.

Talk about power corrupting... Effing twit thinks the sun shines out his rear... He wants to change the consititution of Venezuela so he can become an eternal leader... Funny idea of democracry.

Spanish King has acted appropriately defending their democracry from fascist outcries imo. God bless him. :)

But it goes to show that you have to keep your mouth shut when you are in front of someone like Chavez.

Chavez used the King as a convenient excuse to get at Spain and Spanish business in Venezuela.

Chavez, Putin and many others are a different breed of national leader. They know that they have plenty of oil and are going to use it to give the West a hard time.

Much as I sympathise with Juan Carlos, it was a bad slip of the tongue because it got him involved.
