Hello guys, my name is Victorio and I am a student in Mexico City, I need your help for a project my school assign to me.
The project consist in investing 1 million dollars ( real money ) in the Mexican stock market, and beating the Mexican stock index “IPC , or Mexbol in Bloomberg”; the rules of the project are:
1.- I can only invest in the IPC “The Mexican stock index”
2.- No short sales
3.- 50% of the portfolio most always be invested on a IPC Track “Naftrac”
4.- I can only trade for 2 months
5.- I cant use graphs, only methods that I can program in Excel and be automated (I don’t know if that word exist in English, in Spanish is “automatizado”)
6.- I need to make a 8 year backtesting with my strategy, and that strategy most beat 55% of the times the IPC
So guys, I would really appreciate if you could give me any tips or advice on what strategies should I use.
Right now I am trying with Moving averages ( 2 and 10 days )for entry points, and for stock picking, I am choosing 5 stocks with the lowest EV/EBIDTA.
In 2 weeks I need to make a presentation for the Director of the bank to convince him to give me the money.
