A Unique Opportunity To Own a One-Off 'Traders' Candlestick Mosaic Mirror!
This is a little late in the day but, hey, better late than never. Pictured above is an Ikea mirror, the like of which you won't find in any Ikea store in the world. It's decorated with a mix of glass and china mosaic pieces in a design that depicts 4 bullish and 4 bearish japanese candlestick patterns.
Size 26 x 26 cms (10 x 10 inches)
This is a public auction and 100% of all money raised will go to the DEC Haiti Earthquake Appeal fund. The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) was formed in 1963. It is an umbrella organisation for 13 humanitarian aid agencies that includes the British Red Cross, Oxfam and Save The Children. (Click on link for more details.) The auction will last for ten days; the highest bid received by midnight Friday 12th February 2010 will receive the mirror. It will be despatched by post upon confirmation that the amount bid has been received by the DEC. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can PM or e-mail their bid to me (or another third party) and the amount bid will be posted to the thread.
Tim.

Hi arabian,
Your generosity knows no bounds, but it looks as if you'll have to dig a little deeper now!
;)
This is a public auction, so all bids will be posted to this thread. Only yours and DT's so far. FWIW, I'm a better mosaicist than I am a photographer, so I'd like to think the eventual owner will be pleasantly surprised when they receive the mirror.
Tim.

The plan is to bump Timsk off shortly after procuring the mirror and making a killing off the inevitable 'dead artist' price spike.

I "retro-bid" £50 even though DT has already outbid me. Actually my bid was first, but due to communications issues, Tim didn't see it (the wind blew my smoke signals away).

I'm not as rich as DT or probably a lot of you lot . Come on, outbid me, er, DT!

I'll be watching GBPUSD carefull now - there is an outside chance Monty may beat my bid by way of a dollar crash...

This will be OK - because if that does happen - I'll need the $100.

Hurry, hurry, hurry!
There's less than twelve hours left to place your bid to secure ownership of this unique piece of trading memorabilia! DionysisToast is way ahead with a bid of USD$100. Everyone who has seen this mirror is impressed with it and I'm sure you will be too! So, think about where you'd hang it if you owned it and, most importantly, about the victims of the earthquake who will be the ones to benefit from your generosity. Get bidding folks - do I hear $150 at the the back there . . ?
:cheesy:
Tim.

Actually - a new candlestick mirror is just what I need.

I am now thinking and failing to come up with a convincing bit of reverse psychology to convince you to think I am getting something you aren't - which, of course, I probably am.

I'll pay $150 if you smash it for us in to lots of little bits while chanting "candlesticks are ****e, arabian is right", the entire process to be recorded on youtube and placed there in perpetuity

$250 if you then burn a life sized effigy of a t2w member of your choice. Propellants not only allowed, but necessary. (Still on youtube).

Not quite the outcome I envisaged when I started the project but, hey, if it raises the cash - that's fine by me. Of course, the idea that arabian' proposes transforms my creation from mere craft into cutting edge modern art of the sort that Saatchi et al would cream their pants over. Therefore, I would expect the bids to be commensurately higher!

Only four and a bit hours to go chaps, enough time though to down a few beers and do something rash!

Less than ten minutes to go . . .
C'mon peeps, where are all you millionaire traders with big hearts? I've put in around $10 in materials and at least 20 hours of my time - surely there's a member who's gonna trump DT's $100 bid? No silliness now - $20 increments only please!

Congratulations DT - the mirrior is yours! Thank you for your most generous bid!
