Good software/program for charting and trading?

Well, I am new here and just start gathering info about all kind of stock trading. When I say "good," I have tried free ones, like yahoo finance, Google business, MarketWatch, eSignal, and I don't remember the rest. I just start gathering information for short term stock trading. For the charting website I mentioned, I feel that they are not enough. They don't allow changing parameters too much (and lack some parameters). They don't have much different time interval for charting. Their data don't go back as much.

So, what program or software do you use for charting and trading? Are they all-in-one or two separate software? How about paid software? Thank you.
