Global Head of Technology (Sydney based)
This new start up Asian based trading house is in the process of putting together a team of industry leading professionals across trading, sales, financial engineering and technology to build and grow a dynamic and innovative leading player in the options market making space with a remarkable reputation for the quality of its quantitative research and high frequency electronic trading.
The successful individual will be responsible for the growth and development of the Global Information Technology Team. This role will have a global delivery function in providing front office trading systems with particular emphasis on the creation and development of an industry leading algorithmic engine. The role will require a seasoned derivatives relationship manager with a top tier background and an individual with outstanding logical thinking and top calibre programming and problem solving capabilities.
Working closely alongside the Heads of Financial Engineering and Electronic Trading, this role will provide a unique challenge to create and shape the future of algorithmic trading in the options world.
The ideal candidate will have:
• a significant proven delivery track record from a derivatives environment
• been responsible for the design through delivery of state of the art equity derivatives platforms in areas such as automated market making, black box trading or listed derivatives
• superb business liaison and partnering skills and be used to working with a demanding user base who want a technology partner they can trust and to grow their business capability
• built market leading delivery teams previously
• held a global remit and be a global visionary to ensure that best of breed regionally is promoted to provide seamless global exposure and speed to market
• a solid technical background
• 7+ years of direct financial markets development experience, 2 of which were in a team leadership role
• people management skills to include the build, and structuring of a high profile delivery team
• good delivery program management experience i.e. establishing appropriate governance, and the tracking and reporting around projects
• knowledge of ORC, Java, C++ working with exchange interfaces would be a plus
