GBP parity with USD or Yen

OK, time for a new poll.

Pound going through the floor.

GBP/USD: Support at 1.36-1.37 (1986 & 2001 lows) then the gates of hell open up to 1.03 (1985 low).
GBP/YEN: Support at 1.29 (1995 low) broken today.

When do you think either GBP/USD and/or GBP/YEN will hit parity?

Not a chance with USD.. JPY I couldn't say but doubt it since the BoJ simply won't allow it. I already mentioned this in another thread but the UK and US will have trade like we've never seen before. This will result in an outflow of Dollars and will strengthen the GBP vs. the USD. It will also strengthen UK GDP. The USD will be incredibly strong in 2009 and after today there should be no further debate. You don't really think we'd choose to support French and German industry over British industry would you? We're going to support BRITISH industry.. Sure, we might be devils, but we're YOUR devils

Gordon Brown knows it and that's why he gave that "fight them on the beaches" speech a few weeks ago..

Now the Euro I can see reaching parity..
