Hi members of trade2win,

How are you? My name is Clara and I have been trading for a few years on and off with mixed results over a variety of markets. This is my first post after joining this forum and I hope to learn a thing or two regarding trading and related topics.

I have been looking for a trading job and found a few advertisements on a recruiting website and came across paid traineeships where trainees have the possibility to make a payment of 5,000 pound sterling to enter into a traineeship with a possibility to trade the firms funds.

I have done my own research and narrowed my traineeship to two firms as per my thread title. So the choices are either Futex or Global Trading Community (GTC). I am wondering if there is any members on this forum who could shed some light as to the reputation of these two firms and their quality of training. Also more importantly, is there any members on this forum who have undertaken the courses provided?

I have done my due diligence and called these firms up to chat with them and they both sound very similar in the quality of the course except their duration with Futex being 6 months and GTC being 3 months. Also with GTC you actually start trading a live account in your final month.

I really appreciate any information that can be provided by any members either through a reply or a pm.

Hi Clara,
I dont really know much about how futex works, but I have been with GTC, and find the course very concise, and flexible. It teaches you all the aspects of trading, whether it be outright or spread trading, all in a very relaxed environment. The fact that you can trade live in the 3rd month is the real positive aspect for me, because, the only real way you learn is when you go live, as emotions change and it isn't play money anymore. As well as learning the trading concepts, you also learn aspects of the psychology of trading which was a massive help. Since joining GTC, I have now been backed by CFT financials, and enjoying my trading.
Good luck with your decision

Hi Clara,

I also followed the same research route and identified the same 2 courses. Futex seem to be a good trading firm who have an established training course. They seem to have only recently started charging for some courses. GTC only offer fee paying courses and have done for a few years. Both courses cover the stuff you might not get in books or for free online, such as NLP, hands on trading, onsite with others and guidance from active traders.
Its much better to start learning in a trading emvironment with other trainees/traders.
The GTC course is a minimum of 3 months, if you are good you continue trading the account you are given as part of the course.

For me the difference was that GTC were in the City and Futex were outside the City, however I have since heard that Futex may now be located in the City?

Go and visit both firms - go on their trading floors and ask to speak to their trainers , but even more importantly, ask to speak to their traders. That will tell you all you need to know. As an aside, never go to a firm who are reluctant to answer your questions or who will not give you access to their trading environment.
Good luck

Hi there,

I was just wondering if you ended up going through any of these trading programs or not and why?

Much appreciated

Hi clara,

I'm currently trading with GTC after having completed their course in Jan. As I think someone mentioned earlier you get a good education from the start. A lot of what you won't read in books or you will have to read 10 books to find one good one!!! With GTC you will get a good education in both outright trading and spreads you also get a lot of time on the simulator trading different products ( no pressure). Then you have the opportunity to chose what you feel comfortable with and then focus in on that. In making the step from retail to pro you really need to look at one of these companies and see whats really going on in the markets. Obviously I wouldn't hesitate in recommending GTC.

As for FUTEX I can't really comment on their training although when I went to see them they only taught outright trading but I have also heard a lot of good things about them.

Hope this helps
