Fundamental and intraday?

When day trading or scalping, when do I need to look for news?
I know that daytrading is less fundamental but many traders take
Advantage of news to get big price moves or maybe to watch out for those
Big moves etc.
But in many recordings I seen of traders, I never see them looking at the stock's
News and fundamentals before going in…even for short term trading, the news
Can hit you, so what do you recommend doing?

They may not track the news specifically, but day traders will generally at least know what's on the calendar of releases for the day to know when volatility might spike.
