Forex / Spread Betting

I am new to both, but i have a feeling the mechanics are very similar? Is that correct, instead of betting 100,000 at a ratio in Forex, in SpreadBetting your betting £1 per point.

playing with a demo account today i have made around £80 this morning, spread betting with forex. small trades here and there.

i just get the feel both are similar...am i right?
