First Timer-My Trading Journal

Hello All

I'm new to the FX market, but I've traded stocks and options for about a year.
Currently I'm using a forex.com practice account (the spreads blow! far to wide). I'm also using a Thinkorswim account for practice and live trades.

I'm up 20% with my forex.com acct and I'm up 1-2% on my TOS acct. I've been full time trading for a couple of weeks. The returns have been very rewarding. I would be lucky to make 20% "investing" in stocks.

I will post my trades as I go, with information about my technique too.
The end goal is to earn $25,000 a year minimum, which comes out to 10 pips a day on a standard lot. I also expect to earn some nice bonus payments as well :cheesy:

Scalped a couple of quickies, here's the trades:

Bought 1mil EUR/USD @ 1.5670
Sold 1mil EUR/USD @ 1.5671

=1 pip profit

Bought 2.5mil EUR/USD @ 1.5668
Sold 2.5mil EUR/USD @ 1.5670

=2 pip profit

For these trades I bought at support and sold near resistence. I use price action and the momentum indicator.

Well, today sucked, in some ways.

I woke up too late, but I managed to:

Buy 50 shares of GDP @ 69.90 (1 hr before market close)
I placed my stop a bit too close and I missed the 1.50 upward move, dang! (right before close)
I've been getting slapped up by the stock market. Today, Dow crashed 300 something points, and oil soared. I will be following the trend in the coming days. The oil stocks are following oil futures so nicely..so i'll be trading these big gainers with STRICT stops.

I've been watching the eur/usd and missed the big move. Placed a counter trade and then I closed my short at a small loss. I'm waiting for some trend action..there is no clear direction right now.

So you're going to tell us your profits but not your lossses?

Scalping 1 and 2 pips won't stand much of a loss...

Well, I have on-going investments hedged with options...
They're not so much "trades" so I'm excluding them.
The losers are the stocks I've held and I'm going to be selling at a loss around 5-10%.
I'm excluding them because I'm moving through a transition to short term holdings.

One stock that's weighing me down is STX. So luckily no serious losses.
I havent lost any $ in FX...still floating well there.

Arthur i see you spend most of your time on the dow thread, did you give up on fx or just on the journal?

Just the journal Elefteros! I keep a paper journal. This was practice trading on paper only.

Futures all the way mate! Glad I didn't do real trading back then...learned a lot from this experiment!
