Finding Worthy Companies

Hi, I read everyday on multiple sites about the next great company but it seems to me that by the time they are on these sites I have already lost out on my chance to earn a bunch from it.

My question is regarding what the users of this site find the best way to find up and coming companies. There are thousands of companies out there and I am more of a growth guy so looking at the dow and s&p are pretty much out of the question.

I don't know generally how to find up and coming companies - all I know is I found one.
I think the S&P500 e-mini's are great to trade to grow your capital.
