European stocks rose, with the Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index rebounding from its first back-to-back weekly declines since March, as health-care and telephone shares gained. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index retreated.
Novo Nordisk A/S, the world’s largest insulin maker, climbed 3.3 percent, recovering from its steepest weekly slump since April. Deutsche Telekom AG added 1.2 percent on speculation Vodafone Group Plc is considering a bid for its U.K. wireless unit.
The Stoxx 600 climbed 0.6 percent at 8:55 a.m. in London. The gauge on June 26 capped its first consecutive weekly declines since the start of a rebound in March on concern the economic recovery will falter. The index has slid 4.2 percent since June 11 after a three-month, 36 percent rally drove valuations to 25.4 times earnings, the highest level since 2004.
