European expiries today

Apparently lots of big options positions all over the place, so could be very volatile.

My bet is on the Dax hitting the 4000 strike price, FTSE maybe 4500 ?

Yes, probably a bit over optimistic, although we are near some big round numbers for Dax, FTSE


Have seen the Ftse move 200 ticks in the expiry period, and the Eurostox move 3% in an hour, so not impossible

A friend who is a european equity derivatives trader with a US bank e mailed saying big positions all over the place.

Maybe I am just hoping for something exciting to happen after a dull December

dax - on ftse they usually go for the nearest 50. so 4400 looks to be it.
