The question that was on my mind since the legalization of marijuana - can business related to MIP (Marijuana Infused Products) be considered unethical? From profits standpoint it’s quite a promising area, mostly due to addiction-causing nature of such products. Any company producing this stuff will quickly gain a recurring clients base. But on the other hand… You’re basically selling drugs, aren’t you? Legal, licensed, but still drugs.
So my main questions are: a) can MIP be considered drugs? b) if so, can their legal state justify making profit with them? c) what kind of profits should such business earn to make you consider joining it, for example via investing in startup built around MIP?
Or perhaps I am overthinking it, and all in all it’s just a new way to make people’s life better, and there’s nothing blameworthy about it?
