Hi,
I’m going to put myself out there which probably is not the brightest idea I have every thought of.
The mission here is just to document some of my daily trades and routines that some members may find use for.
My name is Mike Goldberg and I’m originally from Chicago U.S.A but now stay in the U.K.
I only day trade shares that are listed in the FTSE 100, in fact I really only trade the same 20 or 25 shares every day.
My trades are based on fundamental research and basic technical analysis. The reason why I only day trade shares is because the movements are more predictable in my humble opinion and the stops are really low, which allows me to up my stakes. Profit targets for my trades can be anything from 5 points to 50 points depending on the share. Most of the time my stop loss is no more than 15 points but again some shares allow stops as low as 5 points.
Within a normally trading day I can take anything from 1 trade to 5 trades depending on the volatility during the U.K market hours. My trading day starts at 07:30, I skim through the financial times for anything that I may find useful during the day or at market open at 08:00. My technical analysis approach is basic and this works for me. I mostly trade support and resistance and trend lines and some chart patterns.
I hope in the coming weeks I can really get this journal up and running and try to post here most days.
