Day Trading and Journalling Software

Hello all,

I am new to the forums and thought this the best place to ask a few questions.

I work for a company that deals in behavioural finance and decision making, uncovering hidden biases for buy side portfolio managers and CIO's. We are about to launch a Beta product which will be aimed at day traders in equities, CFD's (and possibly other asset classes).

The new product will be focusing mainly around the journalling and note keeping practice that portfolio managers currently undertake. It will allow notes on the fly, ability to clip web articles, broker reports etc and will have a timeline overlayed on stock data to show the trade and thought process from start to finish. It will also contain a lot of standard data such as position management and p&l/roi etc. There is a lot more included but advertising and selling the product is not the purpose of this thread.

My main questions, as I have never been a day trader..

Is keeping a history of your thoughts and processes a useful tool in the day trading market?

Do the majority of day traders review their thought process post trade or is it mainly ignored?

Thanks
