Hi,

I have realised that I wanted to do trading after an engineering degree. I did an intersnship last summer at a renowned IB, but I wasn't offered a full time position. I have tried going for the 2007 graduate positions, but I have had no luck after numerous interviews :( I have got an offer from ING to do structured finance, and I have a final round interview with ICAP to do voice broking.

I just wondered what working in broking is like, if it would be easy to get into trading after doing broking for say a year, and if there is any chance of moving into trading after doing structured finance for say 1-2 years.

I am going travelling till summer very soon, so I was thinking of trying again when I get back and applying directly for a trading position. What would be my chances, I have a 1st class degree from a good uni and an internship?

Cheers

Hi.

ICAP is a good place to work. Good money. Interesting job. It's situated right on top of Broadgate Circle, which if you don't already know is an excellent place to hunt for totty, especially during the summer.

So, good dough, great environment and plenty of target deomographic to poach after the working day.

Good luck with it.

STH.
