Carbon Emissions Trading (Trading Experience)

There appears to be some call for Carbon Traders... however, I've noted that the Carbon Trading market appears to be quite young (i.e. only a few years old). If this is the case, why do I see these roles advertised with a pre-requisite of "5-10 years" worth of experience?

I suspect 'relevant' in this context relates to general derivatives (or cash/spot) experience - futures, options, forwards, swaps, etc - in any market.
