FSA warning over carbon credit trading schemes | Money | The Guardian

Hey guys,

I am new here and I am looking very much to get into the trading market. At the moment I am in the legal sector working for an investment bank in Ireland, however I came across the site junior-broker.com and see the above job mentioned. I applied for the job on Monday and have received an email inviting me to phase 2 for an assessement centre.

I would be grateful if some of you could have a look and opine whether you think it is legit or not. I have looked into carbon credit trading and the first thing that I seen was the above artice from the guardian which raised red flags. Do you think this is legit?

The assessment centre is scheduled for next tuesday but it is in London and I live in Ireland so it would obviouly cost me ££ so fly over and therefore I would really appreciate some thoughts before I make the trip.

many thanks for your thougts.

Have you verified that they wont charge you for your training? There is a common scam now where they advertise a job but you later find out that you have to pay to do some qualification first, once you've paid your guaranteed job magically disappears.

The other possibility is that there is a job but it will involve cold calling and sailing close to the wind in terms of legality. You know the sort of thing, high pressure sales to vulnerable old people and the like, essentially scamming them but in a semi legal way. Either way I'd stay at home.

Thanks Guys. Obviously this is a scam!! Glad I checked it out, as it seemed a little too good to be true- 125,000 a year- lol
