Can anyone suggest why I've been unable to access quotetracker.com for the last 6 months or more? The website is working for everyone else (and I can see Google's cache of it).
I've disabled my software firewalls and the one in my modem/router.
I assumed my ISP (Demon- Home) was blocking it and asked them not to. They say they are not and can access it fine on the same server at their end.
They took me through a battery of tests tracing pings or something and, after analysing the results, sent me the following email:
Thank you for your email dated 17/2/09 regarding packet loss.
As per the Win MTR and the tracert results, the packets are dropped outside the Demon Network. A packet loss of 5% is acceptable on Demon routers and the Demon Border router is designed to drops ICMP low priority packets without affecting your actual data.
Since the data is being dropped outside the Demon Network, we would not have any control over the same.
Which didn't really help much....
I have no other complaints about my isp and can access everything else.
