Can you access the internet when your computer is in safe mode

I have a virus called download.trojan which I need to get rid of. I can only do this in safe mode as when TrendMicro Housecall finds it it is unable to delete it as it says it is in use. How do I access the internet and get onto www.housecall.antivirus.com while my computer is in safe mode as my virus software Norton is unable to find it.

Nope, you cant use the net when a PC is in safe mode. Windows only loads the minimum amount of drivers to run the basics.

Why not try one of the free AV/Spyware solutions, and run that in safe mode? I havent come across anything I cant get rid of that way.
