Hi all,

I've been spreadbetting and I couldn't find some of the bigger spreadbetting companies - such as CMC, Finspreads, IG, etc - deal with US companies with lower capitalisation (e.g. $500m or below or so), unless in some cases specially requested. Anyone got any suggestions on easiest ways to trade them?

Hi WorldClass,
As you say, SB do limit the number of available stocks to the 'bigies'. If you day trade, ViaTrader might be worth a look. They have a new CFD platform which would solve your problem and, I think, a minimum opening balance of just £2,000. If you swing or position trade then the options are greater. E-trade would be a good starting point, IMO.
Tim.

Thanks very much, Tim.

I just remembered why i looked at spreadbetting first - due to the lower margin and capital requirements :)

Actually another question - do you (or anyone else) know spreadbetting companies, besides CMC and IG Index, with whom you can spreadbet on UK sectors (food & drug, construction, etc)?

I'd be interested in which SB firms allow trading of the XAU index (Gold & Silver Index), and it's component stocks too.
