I'm mostly interested in trading about 5 smallcaps
I've been considering IGIndex as a brokerage since they seem to have virtually all LSE listed shares and seem to offer less margin requirements, although the tierd system appears rather complicated.
My main difficulty when trading these sort of shares (or their derivatives) in the past is the small NMS typically £1000-£3000 for electronic trades. Automatic platforms usually just reject the trade requesting phone assistance and the broker to use a marketmaker, which isn't a problem providing spreads and charges don't increase much. Unfortunately it is often difficult to execute a strategy by placing trades on the orderbook, especially closing ones which have to be executed.
