Automatically refreshing pages

Threads could refresh automatically when new posts are made, using AJAX, in the same way that a quick reply appears there now.

Although this might put too high a load on server or client, of course. Couldn't say, obviously!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can see a number of issues this - firstly, the technical challenges; secondly, as you mention - the load demands on the server; and thirdly I can't really see the benefit except on threads that are being discussed in real-time like the Dow thread.
