the auto industry has taken a hit. with rising gas prices and an economic downturn most people can't afford to be spending money on luxury items such as a brand new car.
most people are actaully trading in their vehicles to get a more affordable, perhaps environmentally friendly vehicle, which isn't much of a gas guzzler, if they're even doing that. i actually just wrote up a blog about this article i found on MSN about how General Motors is doing some restructuring to pull through this slump (including letting go of a number of employees: GM Blog)
one company is trying to pull through, DealerAdvance (DLAV.OB), a company that creates products for the auto industry in order to make the sales experience quicker and easier. according to a recent interview (DLAV interview) they apparently just signed a deal with telemarketing company OPK to help sign more companies to use their products. Do you think this contract is going to help improve their stock? Trading at .0001, it looks like DLAV might need to try a little harder. If large companies such as GM aren't doing too well, it might be time for small companies in general to call it a quits
