Hello All

I just received a mailer from Nick Laight of Canonbury Publishing, offering their 'Sure Fire Evening Trader' system for £187. Also offers 'no quibble' 30-day money-back guarantee. I've received a few like this from the same publisher. Has anyone tried it?

Would be interested in any first-hand knowledge on this one, or info on the genuineness of the publisher.

Cheers
Jez

I'd guess it's anything but SURE.

If it's a simple system you're looking for then there are plenty on here. A few in the links in my signature or search for MR CHARTS on here and he has a thread about trading US stocks which can be done in the evening.

i I have bought this and I am using it at present, only started last week, traded a total of 4 days so far 2 losing 40 points and 2 gaining 40 points,I post daily results on twitter, follow me I am known as vivi62.thanks

Good luck, but a SURE FIRE system that's only Breakeven after a week sounds a bit crap to me

There are times when I would have sold my mother to have broken even on a week...

Yes, but anything marketed as a SURE FIRE EVENING system should "in my opinion" e delivering consistent profits most evenings otherwise it's a bit of false advertising

SURE FIRE, the latest product from Heckler and Koch, works every time.
Because your life depends on it.
You know it makes sense.
Buy now.

Hi Jez,

I think if you aim for a modest 10-15 points per day from the FTSE 100 you will be more successful. Gradual profits with compounding effect over the years. There is now a 90 money back guarantee with this offer and also, Nick Laight is a very reliable publisher, Ihave bought things before off Cnonbury Publishing and I always get a prompt refund if the system is not to my liking. A 90 day money back guarantee is the new offer so you have nothing to lose( they have extended the offer in view of the decreased market volatility), just buy the system and paper trade if you like for a few months. The market volatilty is temporarily low at the moment but it will pick up. Either way, I am 10points in profit and I have been using 10 point profit targets for the last 5 days. I'm not complaining at all. You have to take the long-term view with this one. :smart:

A system junkie. Try this. Try that. Pretend to trade.

How about this:- find yourself a really simple free system and trade that and find out what happens when this happens etc.

Do all your own work and build something that fits your trading style and capabilities and temperament and profile. Nothing you buy off the peg, money back or not, is going to fit.

I think there is a big assumption here and that is that there is nothing in the title "Sure Fire Trading System" that says anything about profits. It is just as possible that the "Sure Fire" element of the title is referring to losses or break even :)

Or it can mean that your account will be blown and all is left is fire and dust ;)

I have just received the Sure-Fire Evening Trader manual through the post and am opening an account with the recommended broker.
I tried a similar system of my own a few years ago on Fx (EUR/USD) but without much luck. I got the impression that it needed a very good understanding of market conditions so that one could adjust the profit target/stop loss ratio to fit the pevailing conditions. Keeping the chosen ratio constant, in the long run resulted in a "glass ceiling" effect, i.e. I got a little way ahead only to then slide back into the red again!
As for Canonbury Publishing, I have always found them to be honest and reliable.
Incidently, perhaps you could help me? Could you tell me how to find the software download for the FTSE Trade Assessor that is mentioned in the manual. The manual gives me no clue because I think that they assume I had bought it over the net. However, I have misplaced the original advertising blurb with the URL details!
In the meantime, let's both hope that the system lives up to its promise. Personally, I'm going to keep my risk to a minimum whilst I suck-it-and-see!

Regards
