I would appreciate if anyone could give me some advice about qualifications for to be a trader for banks or hedge funds in england.

ps : am not a quant

For entry level into banks, top degree from top university.
Hedge fund easiest way in may be maths/physics Phd from top university
Other way into both is a successful historical trading track record from the "right" place.
Luck and who you know can also play a big part.

please twalker what's "the "right" place" don't understand?

I want just be a junior trader any advice?

By "the right place" I mean a place that is well regarded in that particular sector.
There are many young, smart and determined people who want to be junior traders, if you do not fit the criteria I have provided then it is a question of persistence and trying to get a break.

Chaos,

You could also try and do your CIMA qualification, apparently Lehman Brothers quite like that. Give the S&II Units 1/2/3 a bash and maybe attempt your CFA paper.

STH.

Hello just thought if anyone knew or had any opinions about the quant masters courses at cass business school ( formerly city uni). I am not a quant and come from an unrelated background. With a good GMAT score, they seem to be the only ones who will take a non quant.

Thanks
C. :)

send them your curiculum vitae

and your trades history based on their well-know signals.

GMAT is not so easy, i've done it. Went and did a masters in finance and now trade for myself, trying the back door way! You could learn to trade an invest with a smaller broker, this is what i did for a few years. You'll learn a heck of a lot about trading this way. One thing i will promise you is u don't need to have a phD in anything to be a good trader. My programmer is trying to get me to flog some of my systems to various brokerage firms..... lol.... no phD here..........
