Hi all. My name is Dick Tolar and as you can tell by the header I live in Michigan. I was an active futures trader up until April 3, 2002. I picked the id of "rtsurvivor" because I survived a ruptured brain aneurysm on that date. It's sort of like trading the forex. If everything isn't just right you could be dead in the a short while.
Luck was with me that day and every thing fell into place. I've spent 4 of the past 6 1/2 years fighting my way back to a somewhat "Normal" life.
A ruptured aneurysm is a weak spot in an artery that bursts. It's sort of like having your brain hanked out and run thru a mix-master and then poured back into your head.
And, as expected, not everything gets put back in the right niche.
I traded my own futures account for about 20 or so years and did quite well. That all came to a sudden halt when the bubble in my brain blew.
I tried to get back to futures trading but there seems to be a mental challenge in that department. For what ever reason I don't seem to have any problems coping with FOREX charts.
I am a devoted "Price Pattern" trader. I wrote a book about how to trade price patterns in the mini-futures market about 10 or so years ago. It turns out that those patterns work very will in the FOREX markets too.
I keep a blog on Brain Aneurysms:
1... My "Brain Blog"
I don't get to it as often as I'd like.
Anyhow, it's nice meeting everyone here.
