I’ve long since given up trying to predict the market and now let the market tell me which way to trade. I only started making money once I realised I was no good at determining market direction. My entries are purely mechanical, exits are a mixture of mechanical/discretional. I have 2 complimentary trading methods which I run simultaneously. I trade a mixture of futures & options.

More of a day trader these days - hold from 30mins to 2-3 days max, however have an alternative (non-leveraged) investment fund where I buy & hold high yielding stocks on the dips.

FTSE and DJI only now, I also like buying cheap out of the money options when I see a big move coming. Maybe oil/gold if there is an obvious opportunity. Stock trading I stick to the FTSE all-share
What method do you use to Trade?
Mostly, identify a trend, wait for a pullback and jump on the trend. Also trade off major support/resistance. Sometimes I will hedge out bad trades with an option rather than close if I think my analysis was "too soon" rather than "wrong".
