Redarts smartlive journal

Hey.

opened up an account with smartlive the other day as ive been looking for a broker where i can trade tiny stakes and also have decent charts with a large choice of instruments.

Funded the account with £350

Im a crap trader and have lost, to me, large amounts of money over the years, and so my only aim is to make the money last a decent amount of time whilst i can maybe learn some stuff that actually works! I enjoy trading and at these tiny stakes, no real harm can be done. I have lots of friends who throw £50 per week at fruit machines who always lose so this is my vice i guess....

So far they (tradesmart) have shown very good customer service with instant responese to my emails.
As i mentioned in the other thread, i actually accidentally chose the wrong type of account (a CFD account) and they opened up a seperate spreadbet account for me without me having to re-aply for a new account, and they also transfered the balance over for me, so now im ready to SLOWLY bleed some dosh!

Wont be a terribly active thread, but if the account move in either direction by an amount worth mentioning, ill update it, as well as update you on tradesmart as a broker, as i know they are new.

im bearish cable at the mo looking for 1.4620 and then 1.4550. Short from just below 1.4700 at the smallest lots size possible .10 lot. (10 p per point i think)

that's the first target hit. A coulpe of pound coins up on the account so far, lol

Close enough now. nice drop

all out of the shorts now and am trying to find longs as im thinking we see 1.4640ish or so....

Nice little move up there - managed to grab 25pips (£2.50).
All flat now.
Account is up about £20.
Good. Means the account should live a few days longer than it would have now

That was fast!
Target hit. Nice 50 pip upmove since that post. (not that i had the confidence to hold for the whole move)

Tradesmart so far quickly:
Positives:
Customer service has been very good and fast and polite
The platform obviously has quite alot of bells and whistles being metatrader which is a nice change

negatives:
Order execution is a little on the slow side at times, although is ALOT FASTER than when i used CMC. However, I had got used to trading with marketindex (who i really liked and only stopped using because they were SO very slow with fund deposits and withdrawals due to only using bank transfers) who's executions were the fastest I had ever experienced through a spreadbetter so maybe im being a little harsh. I'll keep an eye on it.

keep up the good work...I am in a similar position to you after a recent blow up.
Just dusting myself off & regrouping at the moment.

Wont be the best journal in the world though! Im just someone who enjoys trading despite being ripped to pieces over the years.
I've kind of given up on the idea that I can make consistent money from it, and at times have doubted whether ANYONE does! (The internet is a funny thing and in my time Ive seen quite a few well respected members of various trading forums being 'found out')

Without being too persumptuous, I would assume that i've put in more screentime than 90% of the members here, and if after all of these years I still dont feel AT ALL close to feelling confident about making money, I doubt I ever will.

Having said all of that, I dont want to get to pessimistic so early on into my journal! That's probably for another thread!
This is just me continuing my journey and learning with a small live account as opposed to a demo account and hoping that it lasts a while before it dissapears!

Closed here at 92.29 for +21.
Moves quite slow.

Good call - I just looked at that chart & would have gone short at same level (92.52).break of no 3 point ?

I know hindsight is a wonderfull thing...will try and call a couple tomorrow if I get chance.

looked overbought, had hit my channel line for the 3rd time and was rejected and i looked to enter as it broke the low of the previous support level (circled)

Im suprised it bounced pretty much as I exited. When i closed it I was angry as I actually thought it had a fair bit further to fall, but for once my being a wimp and snatching profits was the right thing to do, lol.

Profit is profit.
