Information on Optiver tests

Hi all,

Can anyone and everyone who have written the Optiver tests recently please reply to this thread or sent me a pm I had a few questions I would really like to ask . Yes I have searched the forums and have found similar threads but there is still some questions I have.

Optiver written test

Hi people..

I got my Optiver test scheduled in September. Could someone give some pointers about the 80 ques in 8 mins test..I know it is based on speed mathematics...Just wanted to know how tough would it be...

Like, the multiplication questions...would it be a two digit times a two digit or do they also ask 3 digit times two digit or even more tougher..

can I find some sample tests somewhere ??

it's not that hard, mostly questions are like 72/12= ? or 0.0034*0.02=? or 41-92/7=?
but you need to be REALLY fast.

Anyone who know what's going to happen after the test, the phone interview??

Optiver test

Hi Jhwang,

Thanks for the reply. I had my Optiver test this monday and I cleared all the 3 tests. I am having a telephonic interview scheduled sometime next week. I would also appreciate if anyone can say what kind of things they would ask in the telephonic round ?

It is most important that you know what is in the telephone interview before they call you so that you don't stutter during your answers.

Be prepared with answers for the following questions:

Optiver test

Hi,

The telephonic interview as they said would be a general interview that would focus on my motivation etc..So what kind of questions can I expect ?

hey dude, how's ur interview going? any clue on how the 3 tests are like? for the 1st test do we have multiplication/ division for 2x2, 3x2, 3x3 digits? and what's the difference between difficulty for 1st and 3rd test?

any advice would be appreciated!

3rd test will be pretty easy and similar to the first test.

4/x = x/64

find x etc.

40 questions in 10 mins attempt atleast 30-35 with 99% accuracy and you are through.

They will provide you with OMR type answer sheets on which you are not supposed to write.

Rough paper will be provided but you will not be able use it as the time will be too short for the first and the third test.

You might need it for the sequences test though. Carry your own pen as the pen they provide may not be smooth.
