This thread will be dedicated to all types of traders that wish to trade NASDAQ type stocks. If you're a scalper, swing trader or even an investor type buy and holder we will try to help you make the right choices on any stock, commodity, etc. I have 30 years in the markets using both candlesticks, and especially Point & Figure charting.

If you ask me i'll give you my opinion strictly using P&F since i mentored under Tom Dorsey himself for many years. In fact it's been 9+ years subscribing to their service at Dorsey Wright.com.

I think the very essence of all traders is to have the best of breed in their tools and the use of important tactics that we will discuss here all the time. My example is we as traders use Esignal.com for charts and real time quotes. Their service has been excellent especially in conjunction with our on line broker Genesis Securities in New York City.

In all my years as a daytrader never have i found a better trading platform then their award winning Laser Platform. What is most enjoyable is they link to Esignal and Trade Ideas whose owner David Aferiat and I have been friends for years. This dynamic combo can only help all of us to be better at what we all love to do, trade the markets for a living.

With my UK colleague Ian Hodgson the mastermind behind the layouts for Esignal and the Laser platform we hope that we can help anyone try these products out to see if they can help you become a better trader.

Speed of executions, ease of use, removing the emotions completely out of the trade using protective stops orders above and below the entry can help us all relax in that all important trade. Brackets are very useful for all levels of traders.

My expertise is scalping for a living using tried and true methods after a long period of hard work and research for the correct combination of charting tools and patterns that continually show up every single day on the charts. What i call the Repetitive Redundant Patterns.

As we progress along in time i will post right here and in the Knowledge Lab everything i can in the way of charts showing all these wonderful patterns that anyone can use trading anything including 2 raindrops running down a window............

No you cannot use this for Texas Hold em'.....................

Please feel free to ask away here, we'll do the very best we can as time permits to help you in any way we can.

With warm regards

Jerry & Ian.

Jerry, it sounds great but . . .

Hi Jerry,
. . . there's always a 'but', isn't there!
In addition to Paul's point, you might want to make your motivations clear, as some cynical peeps around here may (mis)interpret the quote below as a platform to hype a platform, if you catch my drift.
;)

I'm NOT being negative from the get-go, but merely trying to ensure that the thread doesn't get swamped with snide comments even before it's had a chance to get established. Personally, like Pavlov's dog, I'm salivating at the prospect of what lies in store!
Best wishes,
Tim.

LOL Hi Timsk

I have always thought that any open forum has it's good points and bad ones. I have just posted here for a bit on T2Win as i met and liked the gentlemen that run this show. We spoke at the Traders Expo in NYC in Feb.

So i popped in here to see what i could do to help other traders make a buck. There will always be detractors no matter where you go or where you post on the internet.

As for Esignal or Laser or Trade Ideas i love these tools for us scalpers. I have Zero Affiliation with any of them with the exception of paying for their services.

Ian & i have been trading together for a while now and we also met each other in NYC at that show. This guy is one hell of a computer wiz. So anyway we had some dinner together with my wife Inna, and have struck up a nice friendship as a team in my real time room on paltalk.com.

I love to trade, and have been doing it a long time. In fact i'll be 65 come this April 23rd.... :p

Anyway thanks for the headsup, but i'm too old to worry about any of that type of potential nonsense...........

have a good one...

Thanks Timsk

we all pay to play, it's just how much and are the costs necessary?

anything short of the best is useless if you ask me. In fact i am heavily opinionated about what i use and how i trade.

I never question anyone's methodology that works for them. If it ain't broke then why bother?

However OTOH for those traders not doing well and seeking a "potential" answer to their problems which for the most part are mental problems not technical, i think i can help only because i've been there and have done it all.

In my small world of those folks that enjoy each other on a daily basis, it just makes the day go by quicker with a lot of fun and some profits once in awhile too.......... :cheesy:

LRCX For The Eps Date On The 12th

We all love earnings season it really kicks off on the 17th. But this week RMBS reports and so does LRCX. RMBS already guided higher...so be ready to dip buy it.

Here's my comment about LRCX, i would dip buy any slam Monday for maybe 1-2 point pop into the 12th.

LRCX---45.75 THE BTL---44.90 THE SST---HAS EPS DATE THIS WEEK ON THE 12TH. THEY BLEW THE NUMBER OUT LAST Q. WHAT A FABULOUS CHART.

BTL=buy trigger long SST= short sale trigger--- these are for scalpers on Monday morning only.

That P&F chart show LRCX broke a spread triple top at 46.00 and wants 48+ this week market willing of course...

i do think we are going ot test the 50 days on all indexs this week off that "bearish outside reversal stick" on Fridays charts.

Trendless Market So Far

Morning all

the markets seem weak and listless right now and should be this way most of the week. There is only 4 trading days tihs week so take profits quickly and ofTEN, do not wait for reversal bars...it';s too late!

The semis got hit today but watch for a late move today or tomorrow in both RMBS and LRCX they have eps dates this week...

also i was thinking about MSO, she's doing a bit with Macy's and QVC soon and the stocks is breaking out of a long sideways consolidation today. looks excellent over 21.00

Great idea Jerry, I have found all your posts most useful.
Good Luck and I'll be tuning in every day :D

Thanks Samtron appreciate it

we've been nickel and dimeing RHAT all day long...

just made a nice AAPL long and then got stoped for 20 cents loss..

but we are doing well even tho it's very slow out there...

good to see you here.

Morning All,
Thought I would just post an AAPL chart this morning for a couple of reasons.

This is an example of the chart that we use to trade with each day. Although this is a Daily, Jerry & I use the 5 minute timeframe for intraday. Notice the Falling Wedge Breakout which occured a few days ago, and the gaps that we now have on the chart (that usually get filled).
The top of the downtrend line started at the 52wk high, one day before earnings back in January, when AAPL issued downside guidance. The week before, the stock gapped up!
With AAPL earnings out on the 19th, the CCI hooking back, and if you are cynical like me, and believe that the stock price gets pushed to where they want it before earnings, (52wk high just before they lowered guidance), then AAPL is certainly the one to watch, & trade over the next few days.

Hi Ian

nice chart. I think AAPL sees 73-75 next week ahead of eps date...what a fabulous intraday scalper type stock.

Just a headsup to all of us about interest rates. I wrote a little something to the troops this am, and wanted to pass it along. i'll do charts later when time permits.
=========================================================================

Good Morning everyone

The markets are taking a breather this week as expected. My downside potential near term targets on the S&P Futures chart is around 1295 right at excellent Point & Figure Support. On the NQ M6 chart around 1700 or the 50 day would be ok there as well. We needed this pullback ahead of full blown earnings season starting really next week on the 17th, and since we are not open this Friday for trading a lot of folks are out of the markets till next week. I was thinking and have been writing about interest rates. They are at 4 year highs. While we see that bonds are at the bottom of the charts deeply oversold and are due for a bounce. There are rising wedge set ups on the 10 & 30 yield rate charts with the FOMC coming up on the 9th of May my guess is that we'll see a sharp pullback in yields and a rally in the bonds. You can use the TLT(iShares Lehman 20+ Year Tres. Bond Fund (TLT)
to play this potential next best move. Next week we have a slew of very important economic numbers that the FED will be watching keenly ahead of their meeting to try and see if this is a good enough time to raise one more time to 5.00% and pause. IN fact folks that's exactly what I think is going to happen. I truly feel that could give the markets a big boost higher if they finally rest. In my opinion their work is finished for the foreseeable future as of this next meeting. While this week will be dull and listless you can bet the farm next week, options expiration week will be wild and volatile as the big boy tech stocks begin to bring home the bacon. I am always getting excited about the gyrations intraday and post market during this time frame. Stay focused and rest up this week.

Hi Jerry,

good to see you got your own thread going. It's been a little quiet on the US Daytraders thread. We need some new people joining in on the boards.

Trade safe and good luck to ya.

-Dave.

By the way. The market is pretty choppy lately. There was HUGE crossing volume in the S&P pit at the end of last month during expiration. The next day was all about buyers. We had a good move up and since the last fed meeting I've only heard SIZE sellers. All the banks have been selling bigtime. And we had big sell stops running off this morning. And I think that if we go lower there are a lot more sell stops to be hit.

VOLATILITY RULEZZZ.

-Dave.
