Hi everbody.

Looking through this section, I was wondering if any of you who are in the Hampshire area meetup at all. If you do where and when.

I live in Chandlers Ford and would be happy to arrange something locally if anybody else is interested.

I live in Portsmouth, 31, and currently work as an FA for a bank and trade part time - Strongly considering going full time with a prop company in the summer, and would be happy to meet or talk about trading in general.

At present trade via CMC markets - Commodities, equities, forex, with varied success ! Used to do a lot of sports spread betting, but moved into financials about three years ago, thinking it may be easier to make a profit !
 
I was going to post in this thread about this area not being red hot for T2W membership, I'm not quite in hampshire but just across the water on the Isle of Wight.

Good to see you guys on here.

Hi guys, I am an experienced trader with an excellent trading history on indices spanning almost 4 years, although not long been a member at trade2win you can also find previous posts including stats,strats and trading accounts here and at traderchat.com under the same name.

Would be interested in meeting up with serious new and old traders to discuss ideas on indices, current affairs and general market direction using fundamental and/or technical data.

Been to 'social/meetings' and events as well as chatting on the phone and by email to many people over the years, I would like to state that I would like to meet up with like minded people to discuss ideas. Therefore I will state catagoricly as time is precious for us all that I will only meet up with people wishing to share and discuss and please bear in mind I am a trader not a teacher.

A few beers and a meal would also go down a treat.

I welcome making new trader friends.
 
Hi guys

It good to hear that trading is alive in Hampshire ( and the IOW). Perhaps meeting up in March may be a good idea. Location could be near to Southampton, Winchester or Fareham.

I'm currently on forex although these last two years my poison has been the mini ES, using spread betting.

Please post if you wish to meet up.
 
Hi, I would second what you've said, as for a meeting place, it would only seem fair to be central to all invited.

As a first encounter can become frivolous with difference of opinons and ideas, I would suggest bringing graphs, trading history, ideas on tools and methods (on a light basis) so we could all look (briefly) to: 1) Asertain the serious trader, not newbie's who thought about trading today and wants to come and watch. And: 2) To get a rough idea of what the other traders currently do without critisism.(This will save early disagreements).

The idea of meeting up is an exciting one but only if I can help those that can help me.

Although I appreciate some may have to travel some miles, I would recommend at this first meeting a short drink with no need for excusses to leave, if one feels they wish to stay longer then they may do so, theres nothing worse than being stuck with people for whom one doesn't get along with and trying to excuse yourself without being rude from the dinner table.

What do you think?
 
Location

If your considering locations that would be central to Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, Chandlers Ford - Southsea or Gunwharf would seem logical ?
 
Might pop along if that's ok. Live in London but am often in Portsmouth/Southampton area. Post the details up here once you have something sorted !!

As a fellow trader with you on skype and have seen what your capable of, I would love you attend as I believe you could give some very good insight into short term moves and would be a good asset to the (potential) group.

How about meeting up at the Portsmouth Marriott Hotel, near to Junction 12 on the M27? Its got a bar and Wifi (£6/hour). If you know another venue more suited to our needs, even better. I would be happy to pick anybody up from the IOW ferry.

Please can you indicate which night is best. I would be happy with Wednesday or Thursday. How soon? Perhaps the week of 24th March, 31st March or 7th April.

I thought it be worth getting the ball rolling.
 
Wifi would certainly come in handy for some, I have a PDA that runs on independent line so platform will be running for any one that needs streaming prices on any market should wifi have problems or for anyone that trades over the phone.

Mid week would be better as thursday/friday can be busier, as for destination, portsmouth suits me fine.

Anyone else?
 
Hi all.

Have just joined T2W, am based in Warsash (between Portsmouth and Southampton) in Hampshire.

Been trading for a few months as a spread better, few years with shares, and would be interested in a social as well!

Hi All,

I'm based in Waterlooville, as Lee Shephard already knows (we have spoken on the phone). I've traded for 7 years, (position and day trading / scalping, mostly indices)and I won't hide the fact that the markets have beaten me to date! However, I do have some success, and I would most certainly be interested in swapping ideas / strategies, for the common good.
I also think the Portsmouth Marriott would be a suitable venue.

Well guys looks like we are meeting on Monday 31st March. I suggest from 7.30pm in the bar. I will be there from 7.30pm myself. If anybody needs picking up from the ferry, please send a private message.
