Big Job breaking out.

It's been 22 years since I moved in and did the first round of garden building works.
The lawn has been getting on my tits ever since. Never dried out properly and just a general nightmare to maintain. Over the years, it's just got worse.

So now i've installed land drains with back fill chippings. next comes grit sand and finally 24 sq mtrs of artificial grass.

Have ya seen the price of that stuff.....fek sakes...25 nicker a mtr for something half decent!!!

Paths and patios also being re-done....Indian sandstone on a 40 mm mortar base. That f******er won't be going anywhere!

Pic updates as and when.

Ps, thats my youngest lad in the photo.
Probably the first time he's been out of his room in 2 yrs :mad::rolleyes:

Best stuff I've ever bought. No more mowing and only requires the occasional sweep – which her Ladyship does cos it's her garden!

Before anyone asks!

New bubble expertly fitted....(y)

Where did you learn such landscaping skills C-V ? I would love to pave my rear garden but would not feel confident myself to tackle it, Would have to get the boys in..

Started when I was a kid I suppose. Ma and Da were always doing stuff, observing them and joining in so it all came naturally. Couple that with my competative spirit and drive to be better than your average Joe.

Sometimes that's a curse mind.

About 10 yrs ago had the builders in for a quite large extension consisting of double average size kitchen, bedroom above, new garage, old garage conversion to my office , laundry room, downstairs bathroom and finally the conservatory extension. After the brickwork and roofing were complete, I decided to fire the builder and complete it all myself. I swear they were sent to boil my ****. Incompetent and unreliable doesn't even begin to cover it.

So, my advice would be, if you feel like having a go at the project, then jump on youtube and watch a few vids of people doing stuff. Most of it is common sense.

Just do it, as Nike say!

Looks better when cleaned off. Was hoping to have it all completed this weekend, but the artificial grass choice is turning out to be more of a problem than anticipated.

cheers

I have One of those refillable cartridge guns which pumps the mortar into the joints. The trick is to joint up and clean as soon as possible after laying the slabs.
