I actually did their course a few years ago...
Everything they do
is legit and you
will make money trading their system. Basically you will be using Metastock with custom templates they created. It's all pretty straight forward and easy to follow and most (serious) people whom I kept in contact with still trades their system and makes good money.
By the way, Nikki ( one of the directors ) worked for Win Investing before starting her own company - Serene Education. Not 100% what happened, but she wrote the training material for Win, and when she told them they needed to update it to suite market conditions back in 2006/7 I believe, they refused because they were MAKING MONEY from people attending their course as is. "Why fix something when it's not broken?"
In any case, while on the course, Nikki placed some live trades on her own account based on analyses we did as a group. Cant remember the exact figures, but out of 5 trades 4 were profitable. Something like $1280.
On the forum she goes through all the pairs each morning giving valuable feedback as to what she will do next. She averages around $1000 - $1800+ per day. And thats actually something you can verify because these are live trades she takes in the morning, and you can watch it play out on your own screen with the levels and prices she predicted.
Of course, she does not say: "trade this and that" because no-one is allowed to give such info unless regulated, but you quickly catch on to the lingo in the forum as things are happening...
I personally had difficulty trading like this simply because Im much more technical minded. I cant just take a template and trade with it because I need to know
WHY it works and
HOW it works. That's just me.
Over a course of about 3 months I made money and I also lost money ending up breakeven. I had to go back to the day job and give it up for a while.
Recently, I did another course costing a
fraction of this one, and now Im actually at a point where I can see myself trading full time by the end of 2013.
Over the past 4 months I have averaged around $2800pm profit trading only the GBPUSD on daily charts - keeping in mind there are many more pairs to trade...
I must add though, I spend a
lot of screen-time before this going over charts, practicing, re-reading the training materials and so on. There are no hard and fast rules to trading. You need to develop a feel for it over time.
The course I did goes into great detail on how and why price moves while at the same time keeping it simple and easy to understand and follow. You learn what causes price to move and how to identify the exact point where it will happen, giving you an edge over the majority of traders out there still trying to figure it out looking at all sorts of indicators giving you delayed signals on what has
already happened.
The biggest benefit I found was that I can now look at almost any strategy or setup and SEE why it works based on what price is doing because I am now better able to understand why people make certain decisions which influence price movement.
A HUGE advantage in my opinion. There is also no forum. A GOOD thing I think, because it forces you to THINK for yourself instead of trying to figure out what other people are doing or saying while they too are still learning the ropes.
So in short: If you are looking for something simple where you just follow what someone else says you should do and so on, then Serene Education might be the one for you.
I would personally recommend doing
this course (
Price Action Trader) first so you can understand how other traders see and read the market. If I remember correctly, Serence charges around £3000/$4450 + Metastock software you will need + the subscription for the software.
The one I did was $197 and you can use any software and trade any market on any time frame as well.
The main thing to remember either way is that you need a lot of time to learn how to trade. Some people might get it quickly, but the majority takes months and even years to get to that level. BUT, it is worth it!!
