My new trading setup

Jeez - some things you start and then they take a life of their own...

I just moved to a new house and decided it would be nice to have a proper trading setup. The initial idea was to just build a table somewhere, somehow it mushroomed out of control and the decision was made to put the table where there wasn't a floor.

The style is zen minimalist to match my trading persona :whistling

I told the missus I didn't want to go through all this again and she humbly suggested that if I didn't get another divorce, I wouldn't have to... touche...

(what I would do, to make it even sweeter, would be to get a stand/desk mount for those 4 monitors and turn them portrait)

So you built a floor specifically for you to trade on? It would not exist otherwise, it's only purpose is to facilitate trading. You literally have a trading floor in your house. 🙂

I'm in Thailand, it's to keep me cool...

Mind you - spillage is a good point. This PC has not yet surfed porn... this is of course because I am a seasoned professional and NOT because I'm still waiting to have blinds fitted on the window behind the desk...

I'll be using that too. People will think that all of a sudden I am capable of subtle, dry wit.

Then I'll carry on talking and spoil it all...

dude, I didn't know you traded out of thailand, my favourite place in the orient, great people. I had a couple of weeks in Phuket a few years ago, took a boat out to Phi Phi, amazing place. I am overdue a visit to Koh Samui. Are you based out there full time? I just assumed you were UK based.

Can't wait to visit Thailand. My girlfriend is Thai so will visit with her some day. Oh and yes she is a proper girl before the jokes start! Where abouts are you toast? I want to go to Chiang Mai. Nice set up by the way. I've just built a new computer and setup, just making the finishing touches but will post some pics at a later date.

P.S. I don't know who the flock anyone is around here anymore with all the multi nics. I'm guessing Jimmy Lulz is Paz but who is G.O.A.T. He must be a multi nic cos he knows about Roths Ferrarri!

I'm in Bangkok, although just outside the city now that I've moved house. I'm just out of range of Starbucks for the first time in many, many years. I'm not sure how I'll cope.

I also had a PC built but I thought it was a bit gay to show a pic of that - i7, 8gb Ram, 2 x 1tb porn stores, and a load of other stuff I don't really understand but I got caught up in the excitement of the guy who was building it for me.

The fan in the bloody PC is as big as a laptop....

Anyway - it's nice to have a purpose built setup at last, I'd heartily recommend it.

So far, I've found IB to be a great broker. The best thing about it is the universal account where you can trade stocks, options, futures, forex - as well as 20+ different markets all from the same account.

I've not heard of any other broker that lets you do that.

Yes - I find it extraordinary that no other broker (that I know of) has cribbed this idea from IB and done the same thing. I imagine IB are even more amazed - and can't believe their luck!
